The brain combines several auditory cues to determine the direction, distance, and apparent size of each sound source.
Time differences, level differences, and spectral variations allow us to locate sources; these clues work together to construct an internal spatial map, explaining how we distinguish movements, heights, and positions without needing to see the source producing the sound.
